Famous Peeps in our hood!

Our dear neighbor Amy and her family (Amy watched Elle for the first year of her life) were selected to be on TLC's Home Made Simple.  Our neighborhood was a buzz all week long!  I swear it was scene straight from Funny Farm!  Every neighbor was hanging out on their front porch, watering their lawn, waving, and enjoying everyone's company.  Remember on Funny Farm when the family was ready to sell and everyone acted out the Norman Rockwell attitude :)  Well, I LOVED IT!! It was so nice coming home from work and seeing all the neighbors out and about!

Okay so I was the stalker who took pictures from inside the house because I am a dork.  Here, the Mavens are walking down the street.  I had to get a picture of Elle watching them as they are famous!!

They did all the family interviews out front so this is through the blinds in Elle's room.  Remember I was incognito!

The view through our guest bathroom window :)

Lastly the view from our office room. Hee hee, total stalker huh?  I really couldn't help it!!

They brought a ton of assistants who were super friendly.  I said "Hello" once but it counts!  Colby and our other neighbor Randy actually had the nerve to go over and *Gasp* talk to them!  Seriously, like talk, talk to them!

There is our lovely neighbor Amy working on one of the projects!

On Friday night Amy and Jeff allowed all the stalkers/Norman Rockwell's of the neighbor to come over and see the transformation and taste the yummy treats Amy cooked up with the Mavens as well as what was catered all week.  Yes, they even had a caterer!!  I am so pleased Amy and Jeff were selected as they are a very special family that Colby, Elle, and I adore!

Lordy, Lordy, looks who forty!

We headed over to Spokane for my brother's 40th birthday party!  I have been terrible lately remembering to take pictures, not sure if it is because I am running after Miss busy body or because I really want a new camera :)  So I had to steal a few pictures for this blog from others!!

My sister-in-law Tracie, Marc with their children Olivia in the front, Marcus, and Emma (with her dolly)  Ceci and Sophie had a great time playing with their cousins!

On Friday night Poppi, Raymond, Marc, Colby, and Wes deep fried!  Turkey, sweet potato fries, and french fries.  Seriously they were looking around to see what else could be spiced up in the fryer!  Dang, I have to say anything fried is AWESOME!!

Poppi carrying the turkey in to be carved!

August 14th is also my sister Tracy's birthday but she only turned 36!  Yes, same day but 4 years apart.  So to recount:  Marc- brother who turned 40 married to Tracie, Tracy- sister who turned 36 born on the same day as brother.  Crazy easy to remember names and birthday!! I do feel a little left out not being born on August 14th but I usually got a present on their birthday when I was younger as everyone felt bad for me :) hee hee, probably what added to my quirkiness that everyday was a great day to celebrate my birthday until I was 26 or so!

Enjoying watching the boys work!

Actual party pic stolen from Tracie's blog.  Thank you Tracie :)  We had a wonderful trip to Spokane and can't wait to go back next month for some Eagle football!!

Wesley picnic

We headed to Gigi's (Colby's Grandma) home for a picnic last month.  We had a great visit with Gigi along with Grandma and Grandpa S.

Grandma S walking Elle around the picnic chatting with Gigi's neighbors!

Elle checking out Gig's necklace.  This was moments before Elle stuffed them in her mouth :)  Oh, shiny and pretty!

Thanks for having us down for the picnic Gigi!!

Splish splash mat splash

The weather has been amazing lately so we invested in a splash mat for Elle.  It really has been a lot of fun except she wants you to enjoy the water with her!

Look Daddy I can stop the spray.

Short video to give you an idea of how much fun it is!

Chopping

Elle's bangs are super long and she had begun rubbing her face trying to get them out of her way.  As you can tell she is not fond of the bangs.

Do you see the resemblence?

I think she was a little offended I compared her to Eddie... So a trim was in order or so I thought...

My cheaper side got the best of me and I thought "heck I can do this" right?!?

So I prepared my client who questioned my sanity...

Okay, so it is a LOT harder then I expected and took Colby and myself to rangle Elle and get the bangs semi even...

After a bottle and a lot of consoling Elle was okay with it or should I say I was okay with it.  I plan to spend the $25 next time and have it professionally done... .

Hello Gavin

Sunday we headed down to Edgewood to meet Colby's cousin Sarah's newest baby, Gavin!  Sarah, Josh, and big brother Noah have a lot to be proud of!  Gavin is a heart breaker!

Elle wanted to walk but kept forgetting that she hasn't quite mastered it so we sat in the grass at the party and let her practice walking between us.  "Look at me!  I am with Daddy"

"Now, I am with Mommy!"

Once Elle was tired of practicing we hit the swing.

Higher Momma!  Higher!

Rock on!!

I think they were strategizing how to get even higher!

Run Dadda, Run

Elle and I watched Colby pitch in the semi final's of his softball league.  It was a great game with the "Bad News Beers" advancing to the next round.

Colby up to bat and looking to hit it far!

Wish him luck as tonight is the next round of play!

Father's Day

The past few months have flown by and I have been really bad about updating the blog.  Colby's first Father's Day started off with Elle and I making Daddy breakfast in bed.

Elle had to leave her signature mark on his card.  I was asking Colby last night what we got him for Father's Day and neither of us could remember... Sad, huh?

I didn't take any other pictures of the day but it was a great one over all.

Date Night, Date Night!

Colby and I went on a date!  YEAH for parents!  Grami and Poppi gave Colby a gift certificate for two tickets and parking for an M's game and Grandma and Grandpa offered to babysit!  Thank you to both as we loved our night out!!

Colby and I tried out the Elysian Fields Brewery before the game.

We had to try out the "The Mens Room Original Red"  it is brewed for The Mens Room Radio Show.  Our favorite radio show to listen to on the way home from work.  I think it reduces our stress level as we both laugh our heads off at the question of the day and bad joke Friday while driving home.

Cheers to date night!!

This is the only picture/video of the game.  It is the of the field crew dancing to "Hammer Time" while raking the field.  Apparently we thought it was really funny!
