This Just In...

Show Off

Tonight at approximately 4:46pm, while Mommy and Daddy were in the kitchen making dinner, Mommy suddenly noticed that Elleanor had gotten herself in quite a predicament. Yes folks, Elle oficially rolled over. However, she seemed to have pinned herself against her nemesis the whale. Mommy and Daddy did what any decent parent would do...grab the camera!

Elle was quite proud (once she got her arm back)

Punkin' Pickin'

After our unsuccessful attempt at getting a pumpkin last weekend due to foul weather, we headed up the road on Saturday for some good old fashioned family fun.

The weather turned out to be beautiful this time and the Thomaason farm was awesome.

Bruce and Terri joined us on our adventure.  We all wish we had packed our muddin' boots as the previous day's rain made walking a little tricky.

Daddy explaining to his little pumpkin that she has to wait one more year for the tricycle track

Taking a hay ride through the field.

Momma and her little pepper.

Not only did we find some nice pumpkins, but the perfect little pepper ripe for the picking.  Seriously, we think she  was outgrowing the costume as we watched.  Luckily she has a second costume for the big show next Saturday.

All tuckered out.  Elle had to get a ride back with the pumpkin in Poppi's wheelbarrow.

Almost two feet!  Can you believe it?!?

We had a really nice time at the farm and hope to go back many times in the years to come.  Thanks Grammi and Poppi for coming.

Look out, Mamma's Cookin'!

This is where I found Elleanor when I got home on Thursday.

What you can't see is actually Kimmie standing at the stove cooking. She was worried the grease from the orange chicken would splatter and wanted to keep her out of harm's way.

Can I help?

This shirt was spot on today

Elleanor had a bad case of the "I want my mummy" today. Here she is reaching for me as I had moved more than 12 inches away.

2.5 years later...

I am the biggest procrastinator around. It took me 2.3 years to get our wedding pictures over to Holly J for our wedding album. Amazingly enough exactly 2 months later she presented us with the most amazing wedding album! We were so excited that Holly, Nick, and Deidra gave us a wedding scrapbook album as our wedding present. I have spent the last several days reliving our wedding because of this beautiful book.

Next time you are over I will be showing off this beauty, so be prepared. If you want please bring snacks!

Pretty in Pictures

Last week Colby and I took Elle to Portrait Innovations for 3 month pictures.

Elle loves her lamb's rug and it worked perfectly for this first picture.

Isn't she cute??  We think so!!

Dahlia's in bloom

Last summer I picked up two Dahlia bulbs at the Olympia Farmer's market for $1 a piece. We didn't get anything last year but this summer we have a full garden! Thank heaven for baby bathwater!!

Rockin and Rollin'

Well, not quite rollin' yet but getting close. Elle started up with this little trick tonight all on her own. She tried for about a half hour before she was just too exhausted and demanded an evening snack.

At one point, Daddy grabbed her left arm and helped her the rest of the way. The shock on her face was incredible when she realized she was on her stomach. This is a bit of a long one and I squeal like a little girl but I was just so darn giddy she was trying to roll over!

"Blowing" kisses

We were having a bit of fun this afternoon with Elle as we watched football on the couch. Mommy was blowing in her face and we think she liked it but sometimes it was hard to tell.

Yay! Daddy's home!!!

We offficially made it a whole week without Daddy and Thai food was only consumed twice.

Cleveland Rocks! (Part 1)

I spent this past week in Cleveland and since I was working overnights, I had a couple of afternoons to wander around..

I have a strange attraction to stadiums. No matter how good (or bad in this case) a team is, I can't help but take a picture of their stadium. Here is the home of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Browns Stadium. It's so weird not to have a corporate sponsorship pasted on the stadium I had to look it up to make sure I didn't miss it.

The weather started to get bad by the end of the week and the winds were picking up on Lake Erie. It had worse waves than most of the ocean beaches I have been to.

The USS Cod is tied up along the waterfront but unfortunately, it is only open to tours through September.

Cleveland Rocks! (part 2)

I continued my tour of the waterfront over to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

This was the only picture I was able to smuggle out from inside the museum. They haven't yet followed the lead of EMP and allowed cameras inside. I actually had to leave my camera at coat check while I was inside but the ZZ Top car was in the lobby.

Outside, they had Johnny Cash's tour bus parked and available for tours. Unfortunately, the tour guide must have been on his lunch break.

Cleveland Rocks! (Part 3)

Late in the week, I wandered into downtown Cleveland to check out their other Stadiums. When the parking attendant asked me if I was going to Quicken Loans I said no, I'm headed to wander around the stadiums. He gave me a funny look but I didn't think twice till I turned the corner to see...Quicken Loans Arena, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Aah, back to the old corporate buyout.
Right next door is the Home of the Cleveland Indians, Progressive Field, formerly Jacobs Field.

As usual, I wasn't able to get inside to see a game but it is still intriguing.

As I was headed back to the car, This building caught my eye. I have no idea what it is but it was still awesome.

100th day

Since I was little I have always been obsessed with birthdays. One of my earliest memories was when we were living at the Farm house. Mom let me call Aunt Pat and Uncle John and invite them over for dinner. I remember telling Aunt Pat it was my birthday and I wanted them to come over. Aunt Pat knew full well it wasn't my birthday but when they showed up she had wrapped up two books for me! It was so sweet of her to let me pretend it was my birthday with presents even! I have always believed in the week'o birthday and still do!
Lana my good friend is Korean and in her culture the 100th day after a child is born is a very important day. You can read more about it here. Today Lana brought Elle an Asian Pear, an adorable fleece outfit, and marinated Korean Beef to celebrate. We will make the Korean beef this weekend when Colby is home and I seriously can't wait, it smells amazing! I decided I wanted to throw Elle her own 100th day celebration. It is crazy to me that it actually has been 100 days since she was born. I bought Elle the book "Awake to Nap" by Nikki McClure. Who happens to be from Olympia!

Showing off her new Bumbo and Japanese lantern dress from Gia. I know Japanese but I did ran the dress by Lana and she approved!

Preparing for our celebration

"Do I look 100 days old?"

Part of the tradition is to set varies items out in front of the baby and see what she reaches for. This is suppose to foretell her own future. I set out a plate for health, Sophie the giraffe for veterinarian, computer cables for IT (like Daddy), ribbon for long life, a pen for scholar, camera charger for photographer, fabric for seamstress, and a cookbook for chef.

Elle studied and stared for a while but eventually grabbed the ribbon and then the cable and then the giraffe. So Elleanor should live a long prosperous life as a IT vet!
