Labor Day weekend

We headed out to Raymond's house for a Labor Day weekend BBQ!

Elle and Marcus continued their tour O'cars with this produce box.  Grami pushed them around the yard.

Elle was over the car and decided to rest by the fire, while Marcus pushed on.

Elle enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit.  Poppi kept a tight grip on Miss Elle which made Momma happy :)

Colby took this picture and I just love how the fire danced into the sky!

Lordy, Lordy, looks who forty!

We headed over to Spokane for my brother's 40th birthday party!  I have been terrible lately remembering to take pictures, not sure if it is because I am running after Miss busy body or because I really want a new camera :)  So I had to steal a few pictures for this blog from others!!

My sister-in-law Tracie, Marc with their children Olivia in the front, Marcus, and Emma (with her dolly)  Ceci and Sophie had a great time playing with their cousins!

On Friday night Poppi, Raymond, Marc, Colby, and Wes deep fried!  Turkey, sweet potato fries, and french fries.  Seriously they were looking around to see what else could be spiced up in the fryer!  Dang, I have to say anything fried is AWESOME!!

Poppi carrying the turkey in to be carved!

August 14th is also my sister Tracy's birthday but she only turned 36!  Yes, same day but 4 years apart.  So to recount:  Marc- brother who turned 40 married to Tracie, Tracy- sister who turned 36 born on the same day as brother.  Crazy easy to remember names and birthday!! I do feel a little left out not being born on August 14th but I usually got a present on their birthday when I was younger as everyone felt bad for me :) hee hee, probably what added to my quirkiness that everyday was a great day to celebrate my birthday until I was 26 or so!

Enjoying watching the boys work!

Actual party pic stolen from Tracie's blog.  Thank you Tracie :)  We had a wonderful trip to Spokane and can't wait to go back next month for some Eagle football!!

Devil's punch bowl

The house was located about 500 feet from the Devil's punch bowl.

View from the Otter crest lookout

The low tide was at 6pm so we headed out around 4 and were able to explore a lot of the beach in front of the house.

Sunset and a  happy baby!

Happy Valentines day!

Sunday we woke up to a storm brewing at sea which blew over right after breakfast.

The views from the house were amazing!  Thank you Grami and Poppi for letting us come along!

Poppi enjoying sometime with Gia and Elle.

Saturday beach time

Saturday morning we woke up early so we could get to the house!  Sophie and Ceci couldn't wait to explore!

Starfish sighting!

The path to the beach from the house. Looks like Sophie can just run to the beach but wait!

Here is the rest of the path... It had been washed away and we had to scrabble down the rocks like billy goats which the girls just loved!

Waterfall and two very happy girls!

We waited the Olympic games and played in the hot tub once dusk was upon us.  It was a very relaxing trip!

New Year's Day Hike

New Year's Day we took a nice hike at Point Whitehorn Marine reserve.  It was such a nice hike and everyone we passed on the trail would say "Happy New Year" It was such a happy way to kick start the year!

Sophie and Ceci lead the way.  The invisible fence made them stop as soon as they were out of range of their parents.  Once they could fully see Tracy and Wes the girls would yell "Okay" and off they would go a little further ahead.

Tracy, Wes, and Gia enjoying the walk

Through the woods and over the trees

Ceci made it first to the look out point

It was a blistery day but quite refreshing

Our official first picture of 2010!

Gami and Poppi posing for a shot!

Waiting to head down the stairs to the beach

The switch back.  Down the trail with Momma and back with Daddy!

Punkin' Pickin'

After our unsuccessful attempt at getting a pumpkin last weekend due to foul weather, we headed up the road on Saturday for some good old fashioned family fun.

The weather turned out to be beautiful this time and the Thomaason farm was awesome.

Bruce and Terri joined us on our adventure.  We all wish we had packed our muddin' boots as the previous day's rain made walking a little tricky.

Daddy explaining to his little pumpkin that she has to wait one more year for the tricycle track

Taking a hay ride through the field.

Momma and her little pepper.

Not only did we find some nice pumpkins, but the perfect little pepper ripe for the picking.  Seriously, we think she  was outgrowing the costume as we watched.  Luckily she has a second costume for the big show next Saturday.

All tuckered out.  Elle had to get a ride back with the pumpkin in Poppi's wheelbarrow.

Almost two feet!  Can you believe it?!?

We had a really nice time at the farm and hope to go back many times in the years to come.  Thanks Grammi and Poppi for coming.

Just having one of those days

Today was one of those days when I didn't even want to get out of bed as I knew work was going to be bad. Okay, so I may have contributed to my own demise with the famous words "just ship it". Let me state for the record it was well past 4pm on Friday when these troublesome issues arose and I pretended that Monday would never arrive and I wouldn't get caught in my web of "just ship it".
Flash forward to Monday morning.... Work was, as predicted, terrible and I spent the first few hours correcting my "just ship it" moments. When a grower called I knew I was in trouble! I didn't think 3 o'clock would ever come.

When we arrived home tonight I found three lovely packages on our step! 1. Colby's passport, which he had left on a flight home from Edmonton. The passport took it's own trip to Sacramento, thank you Horizon flight attendant! 2. A lovely card and book from Megan! Thank you so much, I haven't read this book, so I am excited to start it. 3. A Harry and David's gourmet food basket, I was in love! I assume this is all for the baby or at least that was what I explained to Colby :) I plan to try it all tomorrow while Colby is in Boston. Hey, the kid has to eat! Thank you Mom and Daddy O!! Tomorrow is already looking up!
