Where the updates go?

Colby and I have been reevaluating our budget this past month  and with that we have been making changes.  One of the biggest changes we made was to our TV, phone, and internet service. Gasp, yes, Comcast we are leaving you for someone else.  We left comcast and entered the world of Direct TV and what a change!  We now have 10,000 channels!  With so many channels how do you watch them all you ask?  Well dear readers it is simple we use the DVR or Direct TV which stores thousands of hundreds of shows.  Anyways with this being said the change over was fairly smooth until I opened my mouth  "Honey, I am home!"...

Flash backwards to Saturday.  Cable TV check, Phone check, internet needs tweaking/installation.  I decided to lay down the law and stated " we should return all the Comcast equipment" Colby replied "I think that is a bad idea until we find out if I can install the ethernet cable between the beams of the roof, wahwa wahwa, wahwa" Me: Oh, look something shiny on the ground and then I pipe up with/throw the "we are trying to save money card on the table"  Thus Colby marched into Comcast carrying a Direct TV box full of Comcast equipment.  Do you think they asked why we were quiting?  Nope, I think it was loud and clear.

Flash backwards to Sunday.  Apparently the cable Colby had to run from the office to our bedroom is important in order to have internet.  Apparently this was stated between the wahwa wahwa part.  Never less I now know it is important to listen to the whole conversation.  Where am I going with this, you ask?  Well, we will not have internet until December 4th at our house... Whoops, my bad.  So I will be updating from work on one of my regularly scheduled breaks.  Here is the first of my photo montage called
"Things I see from my awesomely cool iphone"

Elle had to be the first pic of course!!

**PS did you get all my TV show references?  Does Captain Obvious need to point them out? Hee hee, I crack myself up!

Just swingin'

Elle has been battling a cold and has tried everything in her power to not go to sleep.  Today we broke out the big guns and turned up the power on the lambs swing.  She kept her little fist up in the air for a good 5 minutes but finally the swing won and she went to sleep.  It is seriously hard to get a picture of a fist pump with the swing in motion...

Flower hats rock

Elle has always gotten quite a kick out of flower hats and yesterday Lana sent me home with two new hats for Elle that she knitted!  Aren't they totally fabulous!!

Mommy wishes she could knit like this!!  Maybe I will add it to the long list of things she would like Lana to teach her!!  The other hat is green with a pink flower but the picture of Elle wearing it didn't turn out but I am sure we will have plenty more as she wears them this winter.

Thank you Lana again for the beautiful hats!

The crack heard around the World

Remember this post?  Well, it has been almost six months and we finally got our new window in.  We had a few mishaps with the ordering of the window.  The first had the strips running the full height of the window so it looked like it belonged in a prision or liquor shop...

Putting the window in was quite a task.  Colby and I thought it would be a good idea to start this project after 4pm in November...  At least it made us work quickly as I felt dollar bills flying out the open hole as the furnance worked double time trying to keep the house warm.  Elle was entertained by her first episode of "Baby Einstein"

Here is the final results, water proof and all!  So if this was a Mastercard commercial:
New Window $60
Installation tape $Free due to window mishap and 6 months delay on delivery
Installation labor $Free two suckers ie Kim and Colby 1.5 hours
Heating bill $$$ too scared to look
Doing it ourselves $Priceless
plus I think our neighbors aren't as embarassed by us.. Garage door to be fixed Monday... Can't wait!

127 days later...

It has actually been 4 months since we took Elleanor home from the hospital and it is official she is ours to keep! Last bill has been paid and she is officially off layaway :)

We celebrated with our celebrity shot.

Gnawing on the camel always makes Elle happy.

Today was Elle's 4 month appoint. Drum roll please..... I am 25 3/4 inches tall putting me in the 90th percentile!  I weighted in at 14lbs 9ozs which is perfect fighting weight in the 75th percentile.  My head is only 16 1/2 inches around and moved up to the 75th percentile!

Elleanor's 4 Month Milestones:

  • I can roll over
  • I no longer wear size 1 diapers no matter how Mommy tries to squeeze me in
  • I blow bubbles and it makes Mommy and Daddy giggle
  • I love to smile and laugh all the time
  • I just love to grab my knees and tuck into a ball
  • Sleeping is for car rides, strollers, baby bjorn, and while in arms.  Cribs are overrated...
  • Mommy and Daddy have invested in millions of pacificers but still manage to forget them at home
  • The bumbo rocks I am getting better at sitting up and not slumping over
  • I am not quite tall enough for my jumperoo but with the help of the Wii Fit I am now able to jump and play!

It was another great month for Elleanor and we are looking forward to the holiday season ahead.  Hope to see you all soon!

November 1st

Sunday was such a nice day we decided to walk down to the lake

There were a few boats out playing on the water

Elle probably will grow up to say we never take her anywhere, as she usually falls asleep.  However, these pictures will serve as proof we do actually go places :)

On the way back we paused for a picture and so Colby could figure out how far we had walked.  Turns out it is 1.5 miles from the house so 3 miles round trip.  Not too shabby.

Back at home and still asleep.

My very own crib

I finally talked Mommy into letting me sleep in my own room. We had a lot talk and she finally agreed it was time. I also figured out how to turn on my aquarium with my feet.

Leftover Halloween candy

What to do with leftover Halloween Candy you ask? Well, make cookies of course! They turned out to be excellent! I crushed up oatmeal with Hersey chocolates, Heath bars, and M & M's.

I feel this makes the unhealthy, healthy! Yep, I am sticking with that answer!

Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun

Mommy and Elle put together these fun paper machè pumpkins with prizes inside for the neighbors.
Elle was very excited to go "reverse trick-or-treat"

"Oh My! A spider on our doorstep. Oh wait, It's just Elle delivering goodies."

Chillin at home showing off her own special pumpkin. It says "Elle's 1st" Our nighttime pictures turned out a little blurry.

Mommy's owl jack-o-lantern was very cool.

Mommy was a black spider web but her spider went to bed super early.  Daddy was a college student with a beer in hand at all times

Gamma was a witch and Gampa was a fan of a very scary team (Go Cougs!)
