Halloween

It was so nice that Halloween fall on a weekend as we were able to get in some great Trick or Treating!

Pumpkin Patch

This year we headed to the local pumpkin patch with Liz, Myron, and Madelyn.  The girls wore their Halloween costumes to get into the spirit!  Can you guess what Elle was?

Yip a Holstein-Friesian cattle!  I am sure that is what you all guessed :)

We really enjoy this local farm and all the fun activities they provide!

Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun

Mommy and Elle put together these fun paper machè pumpkins with prizes inside for the neighbors.
Elle was very excited to go "reverse trick-or-treat"

Punkin' Pickin'

After our unsuccessful attempt at getting a pumpkin last weekend due to foul weather, we headed up the road on Saturday for some good old fashioned family fun.

The weather turned out to be beautiful this time and the Thomaason farm was awesome.

Bruce and Terri joined us on our adventure.  We all wish we had packed our muddin' boots as the previous day's rain made walking a little tricky.

Not only did we find some nice pumpkins, but the perfect little pepper ripe for the picking.  Seriously, we think she  was outgrowing the costume as we watched.  Luckily she has a second costume for the big show next Saturday.

All tuckered out.  Elle had to get a ride back with the pumpkin in Poppi's wheelbarrow.

Almost two feet!  Can you believe it?!?

We had a really nice time at the farm and hope to go back many times in the years to come.  Thanks Grammi and Poppi for coming.

Elleanor had a bad case of the "I want my mummy" today. Here she is reaching for me as I had moved more than 12 inches away.

Our neighbors in the Northwest

These are a couple of "characters" that we have been passing on the way home from work every day. The first is a scarecrow that is trying to hitch hike his way out of Issaquah with his little friend on his shoulder. He has been there since late September but hasn't yet found any takers.



This next guy popped up only a week or two ago. Apparently he is keeping watch over this field and protecting it from invaders.

You can see to the right the remnants of one of his foes who was not lucky enough to have armour.

We hope everyone had a great Halloween and I will try to get a picture of Kim's costume on here soon. She can't tell me it's too embarrassing of an outfit since I had to wear it for four years ;o)

Boo Who??

Last night Colby and I were booed! YEAH!! I opened the front door to turn off our spider web when I spied this on the porch!

This cute bag was fun of Halloween goodies for us!

To be booed is sort of like a chain letter but fun and I think everyone will participate. The Halloween letter tells us to make up two goodie bags for someone else in the neighborhood. Hopefully, everyone will get a fun Halloween decoration in the next week!


These are the two boo bags we made today to leave on two of our neighbor's porches for them to find.

I was trying to copy Martha's broom candy bags but they didn't photograph well :) We bought each one a sign, Halloween straws and bone candy.

Another exciting Friday night

Friday night was wild and crazy in our neck of the woods! I picked up some cute placemats at Kohl's for Halloween.

Of course I couldn't leave them as placemats!

We hung up this spider web to get into the Halloween spirits, oh I mean spirt :) The neighbor's have been really stepping it up with some very impressive decorations! We will need to add to the front before the 31st!
