Winter time at the zoo!

We met up with Tracy, Sophie, Ceci, and Gia for a day at the zoo.

It was a cold one so we all had to bundle up!

Ceci checking out the giraffe.

The lions were out and about.  Tracy told us that some of the rocks are heated to help the animals stay warm since Washington's climate is polar opposite of the Sierra.

Elephants after bath time!

Playing with baby Elephant!

It was dang cold!

Sophie chatting with distance cousins.

Monkeying around!

The Kimono dragon was ginorous!!

The zoo has an indoor play area.  Elle and Gia had a lot of fun checking out the fish!

Watching the bongo players.

Ceci was so proud of this pose and asked that Uncle Colby take her picture!  Sure cute job Ceci!!

Lost Amigos outside of the new penguin exhibit.

Sophie going around the merry-go-round.

Here comes Ceci!

The ride was thumbs up!

They passed by in a blur...

Next we headed to the bird room.  Were you can purchase a $1 seed stick to feed the birds.

A 1 year old's visit to the zoo...

To celebrate Elleanor's official birthday, Colby and I took the day off and headed into Seattle.  We wanted to go to the zoo!

We were all very excited to see how much the animals and Elle had changed since our last visit!

First stop was the bird dome.  We purchased two seed sticks and went to work attracting our fine feathered friends.

I am pretty sure we had the pet store ringer on our stick!  Luck has it Elle was not too impressed and we did not leave with a brochure on how to purchase a parakeet.

Colby's landed a big bird that flew right onto Elle's head.  Again she wasn't impressed.

Next we decided to try out the carousel.  I tried my darndest to get her to sit on one of the horses but as soon as they started moving she wanted nothing to do with it.  Which worked out fine, as we rode around in the sleigh which I believe was being pulled by all the horses.

Once the ride came to a stop, Elle was okay sitting on one of the beautiful horses.

For the birds...

Hanging around at the zoo...

Otter be movin' along...

I just loved how this group of Daddys were all showing their baby girls the orangutans.  It was just so stinking cute!  I guess I missed the memo that it was Daddy's day at the zoo.

We then headed down to Fremont to pick up our very favorite dessert.

Trip two to the Zoo

Our second trip to the zoo was a success!  It didn't rain the entire time we were there!  All the animals came out to meet Miss Elleanor!

I love Woodland Park zoo as it is more of a wildlife reserve in the sense that all animals are together that would be in nature.  Well, except the mean ones, they are seperate.  I guess no one wants to see a lion take down a zebra as it would be a hard one to explain to the kiddos.  Note the Monkey in the tree, ducks on the left, and part of the Zebra's tail.  Hippos were also in this same exhibit.

Don't you just want to cuddle up with this leopard?? So pretty and mellow!

This is what I think would have happened if  Bad Goat bred with a deer... Ah, bad goat, I really don't miss you at all!

Elle checking everything out!

First trip to Woodland Park Zoo

We got a zoo pass for Christmas this year and plan to make the trip into Seattle once a month.  These are pictures from our January trip with Holly, Brian, and Tanner.

It was raining the entire time we were there so not a lot of animals came out to play.

The monkeys had the right idea.

Tanner and I posed as Snow Leopards!  GRRR

This is how Elle spent most of her time at the zoo... Asleep!  I think all the sounds were soothly sort of like Daddy's snoring :) hee hee
