Flying fish

Colby got to ride the flying salmon on Alaska on Monday. Too bad so few trips are on Horizon so the chances of riding the flying Cougar are slim.

We now have at least a floor of a second floor done. By this weekend we should be able to give a full walkthrough tour. Sooo exciting!!!!!

Got wood??

Our Lumber has arrived!!!

They say that this stage of the building goes fast but we weren't expecting this in 3 days. We went down to the house and stared at the construction workers until they left. While we waited, we finally saw the first train go through. It really wasn't too bad but it was definitely in for the long haul. It took a good 5 minutes to pass. The walls didn't lok sturdy enough for us to wander through the house, but it was nice to walk around it and look at structure. We are also going to have some amazing light coming in the front windows during sunsets. Can't wait!!!

Real life pictures

It's only been a week and I don't know how we are going to survive 3 1/2 more months without internet and cable. We are going to have to pop open another of those 50 or so boxes of books. Here is a picture from Tuesday. Now we know the difference between a footing and foundation.

You can make imaginary pictures in your mind

Well, it's been almost a week and no posts so I thought the blog needed at least something. We have been so busy moving the there was no chance to stop for a photo op. Most of the stuff is in the new "temp" house. It's amazing how much stuff we crammed into that little apartment (not to mention some of the stuff we didn't know about). We took two trips out to the site this weekend and didn't have the camera for either. The footings are holding strond and the boards are in place waiting for the foundation to be poured. We will probably head out tomorrow to check on it again and I promise more pictures. Hope everyone is feeling well (it seems like people are getting sick all over).

Workin' life is tough sometimes

I thought I would post a picture from my last trip. The hours on a plane are tough, but sometimes there are some nice perks.

Welcome one and all!

We got a foundation today! YEAH! We have already marked our territory and, no Dad, not the way you and Marc would have. We carved an S into the wet cement, below where the front door will be! Now only 105 more days until we can move into our new home! We will be updating the blog as it progresses.
