The 100,000 mile drive

It was a wonderful evening for a drive.

We stopped at the sweet shop for ice cream. I got honey, lavender and strawberry while Colby had blackberry.

There happened to be a community concert in the park. It was so much fun to sit on the grass and take it all in.

Colby enjoying his ice cream cone.

Even the Red Hat ladies were in attendance.

Yummy, a pie shop!!

I thought this shop looked so neat but it was closed for the night. Probably they were at the concert too!

As we were leaving Enumclaw I told Colby I could really see us living there. What a cute small town with so much personality! We plan to go back and shop around, hopefully soon!

Who is that boy?

Who is that in my basket?

Who is that on my changing table?

Who is that in my whale tub?

How dare he laugh at me!

Oh, it is Marcus! How silly of me!

Marcus S came to visit on Saturday. He even brought his parents Nick and Deidra for Mommy and Daddy to hang out with. It was a lot of fun and we wish they still lived close by. Guess, I have to go to Spokane soon to visit them and play with all of Marcus's toys :)

H-O-R-S-E

Friday night we meet up with Colby's college roommates. We ended up playing Horse but it was a very slow and uneventful game. I think it showed we all hadn't played in a long time. Nick won, I was second (I blame my extra junk in the truck for the loss), Colby was third, and Deidra came in last.

Marcus and Lucas making a crawl for it.

Nick was trying to teach Marcus to dribble.

Elle was very content hanging out with Holly on the sidelines

Shoppin' with the girls

Elleanor and I met Grami in North Bend for some power shopping! It was fun to get out of the house and shop around!

Thank you Grami for meeting us and for lunch!

How do you mend a broken heart?

Our washing machine has given up the will to live... Let me start at the beginning. Two days ago we noticed that everything in the washing machine was still wet. So, I put the spin cycle back on but the engine did not purrr like a 1 year and 1 month old machine should. Colby dug out the manual and went through all the troubleshooting tips but to no avail. Today I had the machine looked at and was told the engine had died. I was in disbelief. How is it possible? I racked my brain to figure out what I had put in the washer to make it spin it's last go round but nothing came to mind.

Then I remembered that I had looked at my neighbor Amy's blog and her new laundry room with envy. You can read about it here. I truly believe our washer gave up the will to live, sort of like how sheep can just think a sad thought and die. I believe our washer was heartbroken that I had not taken the time to paint or update the room.

The new motor would cost $325, so tonight Colby and Elle (still in her pjs as am I do to the lack of clean clothes) ordered a new washer to be delivered on Saturday. I have added painting the laundry room to my to do list in hopes that the new machine will not give up on life as well.

The Best Part Of Waking Up...

This is how I started my day today. Elle crawled into bed with me.

She always wakes with a big stretch and I like to sing to her the "Good Morning Song"

It must not be too bad because she doesn't scream in terror but coo's back at me.

Elle's favorite part of waking up is of course breakfast.

From crap room to craft room/office

This was a very clean office until we decided to make my craft room into Elleanor's nursery. My craftiness swallowed the whole room and I am pretty sure it belched the other night!
Now that I am feeling better and only have two more weeks left of being home I felt the time was right to start. So for the past three days I have been working on the office/craft room whenever Miss Elle allows.

Caution: Enter at your own risk!

Abra Cadabra! New room!

The office side of the room received royal treatment too (a good dusting)

Colby installed the shelf.

I organized the closet with an different sized bins and tubs all of which are labeled! Mom, aren't you proud? I didn't think I got your cleaning/organizing gene but apparently it has been in hibernation (I have been fighting it) until now!
