M.V. Cribs

Welcome to the latest addition of M.V. Cribs.

My name is Elleanor, come on in and check out my pad...

I spend a lot of time on my sheepskin in the living room.
Kickin' it in my lamb swing.

Here is the first of my three cribs. I like this one as I can see all that is happening in the house.

My peeps bring my moses basket every where I go.

My Daddy and I like to kick it in our chair watching the M's play.

Here is my back yard where all my cousins like to hang out when they are over. Yo, Marcus you're going the wrong way... Kids :)
All of my rides. Ha, I have so many I haven't even had time to try them all out. Guess that is just how I roll.

They always want a fridge shot so here you go! Sorry the champagne isn't Kristal, but the baby food is Gerber.

Crib #2. I like to chill and relax in the evenings in this room. I have 24hr room service from here.

My whale bath. I am not a diva like Mariah... So, no shots of me in the tub that was so 2008.

Just a few of my favorite toys. You can never have too many!

And this is where the magic happens! Here is my little slice of heaven. When I need to get away from it all this is where I head.

This part of the room is where I rock out.

Where some of my clothes are kept. The rest are in the closet my Daddy designed for me.

Crib #3. I have yet to sleep in here but I plan to in the next few months. Where does the time go?

Ah, Mom... This is where we hang at night usually at 2am as I am a bit of a night owl I guess.

Okay, well that is my crib. You need to get going as I need my beauty sleep!

Do you like my hat?

This last picture is a little preview of tomorrow's post. We will finally be getting pictures of Elle's room.

First Bath

Here are a couple of pictures from Elleanor's first bath. Elle taught us a few lessons about baths...

Modesty is key at all times

Exposed areas tend to shiver

Nothing feels as good as a nice soft towel after a bath...

except for maybe a snuggle with mommy

And finally, put a diaper on as soon as you are done. All that relaxing led to a little present in the towel when we opened

Where is the beef??

Ah, liquid lunch.

New cutting edge pears.

For further explanation, this was actually pureed pears but they were imaginative enough to mold them back into the shape of the original pear. Apparently, they thought Kimmie was on enough vicodin that she wouldn't notice.
We appreciated all the staff at Overlake and it was all about the subtle touches like this.

Hello World

We would like to officially welcome Elleanor Ann into our lives and, by extension, our blog. On Monday, we had an appointment with the ultrasound office to check on Elleanor's weight in anticipation of an appointment on Tuesday with Dr. Te who would then decide what the course of action would be. At noon (12:03 to be exact), the specialist came in and said "today you are going to have a baby". We were in disbelief because Kim's contractions hadn't been too bad and she didn't feel like she was going to be in labor.

The doctor then went on to say that because of her fluid level, blood pressure, and what they were measuring Elleanor at (9lbs. 4oz.) they said she should come out via Cesarean. We were then told that they had already scheduled the surgery for 2:30 and we should head right over and start to check in.

The surgery started quite inauspiciously. The anesthesiologist had some trouble getting the spinal block and then the epidural started. Finally, after about 30 minutes, he had success and they could start with the surgery. From there, things went pretty quickly. After the first incision, they were ready to pull her out in about 5 minutes and at 3:21 on June 29th she was born. She came in at only 8lbs. 3oz. (much less than predicted) and 19 3/4 in.

I will save you some of the messier O.R. pictures but here is one right after we got back to our room.

Colby imparting his wisdom on two-hour-old Elleanor

OK, so you do get one O.R. picture. This is our first family picture.

Elleanor, very relaxed after one of her first feedings. (you can see we didn't get to her fingernails quick enough but luckily the scratches went away soon)

We are all home now and settling into the new "normal" rather quickly. We have lots of other pictures and will try to post as often as we can.

What the Hail!!!

Sunday was suppose to be the first day of summer! The white stuff isn't fertilizer, that is some serious hail!

And it kept raining and hailing...

Then it came down even harder...

Colby was a bit happy when he realized he wouldn't have to water last night.

For Your Entertainment

I have quite a few pictures from this weekend but I thought this set was pretty funny. The “other” Marcus was being entertained by Ceci. I just started taking pictures every 3-4 seconds. It’s great in a slideshow but this will have to do...

Unfortunately, Ceci was done before Marcus was and the chase was on...
