Map Pins

This is one of my favorte jokes from the late comedian Mitch Hedberg:
"I want to hang a map of the world in my house, then I am going to put pins into all the locations I have traveled to, but first I will have to travel to the top two corners of the map, so it won't fall down."
Here are the places I have gone to that hold up my map...

This is an old picture from before I got my job travelling. It was a special project that sent me up to Juneau, Alaska. I got to spend a week at Grandma's Featherbed Inn. If you ever travel to Juneau, it's the place to stay. Grandma cooks breakfast and is nice and close to the Mendenhal Glacier. The picture is from a day trip I took up to the side of the glacier - it's only about 10 miles outside of town.
(See, even back in 2000 I was a Coug fan)

This picture is from our vacation to Kona, HI. We had a great time and I can't wait to go back.

One of my notorious pictures from our honeymoon. Cancun, MX was the perfect place to unwind after the wedding. I still have the bottle and it is storing my loose change that will hopefully take us somewhere fun again.

This last one isn't the greatest picture but it was taken at night. St. John's, NL is 4 1/2 hours away and I wasn't there long enough to adjust to the time change. This picture is at Cape Spear which is as far East as you can go in North America. Next stop, Europe. (actually it would have been faster to fly to Poland from there than it was to fly home)
I will be going back soon so hopefully I can get some better pictures during the day. It's really a beautiful place.

Neighborly love

Our next door neighbors have been really excited about the idea of a new playmate. Last night Colby and I left them a message.

Here is the message we found this morning!

I love our neighbors and neighborhood!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice....

That's what baby S is made of :O)

She is sticking her tongue out at us. We foiled her plans to hide until birth.
Parenting lesson number two, you have to have more patience than your child.
Parenting lesson number 2.5, bribery works! Kim had a little Coca-Cola on the way to the appointment and our little girl loved it. She spent the entire time licking her lips and jumping for joy during the scan.

Picking balls

Colby has the daunting task of testing his balls for Vegas. Mind you, I am no expect but I could see how it was a tough choice. He can only take two balls with him. I personally liked the blue and pink best. Colby kept reminding me it wasn't about the color but about the feel.

The pink ball was by far the winner for the day. However, choices can't be made in one alley. We will head to another alley next week for him to practice on.

Now, everyone get your mind out of the gutter! Geeze, this is a family blog!

Craftin' with Kimmie

I have been feeling quite crafty! In fact I broke out the Beignet (fancy for donut) mix. They turned out delish!

This past weekend I went to a baby shower for Carla. I made her two onesie's to celebrate the Year of the Ox. I thought they turned out great. One has the Ox on it and the other says "I see a nap in my future" and then lucky numbers like a fortune cookie :)

The to-go box and starter chopsticks were my finishing touches.

I also made her a little elephant and lovie. It took me a long time to get the elephant right but overall I think it was successful.

Tune in next week with... Craftin' with Kimmie
