Ocean Shores

Before I can post pictures of our recent trip to Lake Chelan.  I thought it would be a good idea to post pictures from our trip to Ocean Shores for clam digging!

Elle loved playing in the sand!

Crafting back at the caboose!

Cleaning of the clams was the boys job :)

See it really was a caboose we stayed in!

Thank you Mom and Daddy-o for taking us along on your anniversary trip!  Here they are posing in from of the hotel they stayed in on their honeymoon :)

Opening of Roos Field

Colby was super excited to get to go to EWU's opening football game.  It was a special game as they were dedicating their new red turf field.  Elle and I tagged along for the tailgate and then headed back to Nick and Deidra's for some play time and naps.

On the drive over we had to stop to change a stinky bum and put on pajamas.  It was a great place for a picture as well!

Checking out the new field!

Elle was totally into the band as it was practicing off in the distance.

First play of the game on the new field.

The morning after...

Marcus and Elle was super tired from playing with every toy Marcus owned!  Notice there are no pictures of Colby or Nick :)

The Hill

This was the view from the top of the sand dune near our house.  In the looming in the far off distance is the main sand dune.

We drove to the dune that day so we could try our hand at hiking it.  Elle and I started off on a good pace, sure to make the top by night fall...

Elle realized it wasn't realistic and decided we should stop to rest and think if it was worth it.

Nope, right here is good enough!

Seriously, Momma I am over it!

Sliding back down the dune!

Colby and Nick took off and made it to the top!  Colby said the lack of oxygen at the top made it hard for him to get his wits about him so he didn't take too many pictures and for some reason there isn't a picture of himself and nick :)  If you look closely you can see Elle, Marcus, Deidra, and I sitting on the beach!

Elle was feeling a little blue when Daddy told her about the awesome view from the top.  Hopefully we can give it another try next year!

The Blue Heron Petting Zoo

While in Tillamook we stopped at the Blue heron for brie tasting and a small petting zoo.  The brie was amazing plus it helps they let you sample Oregon wine as well!

The "petting zoo" consisted of a very overbearing lama.  He looked like he might spit at the drop of a hat.  I for one never turned my back on him.  They also had a few goats, and an ostrich.  I have never seen an ostrich at petting zoo and now I know why!  I casually offered the ostrich some grain.  He came right over and head went up to look around or so I thought.  Then the beck can down and struck like a hammer on my hand. Shoot it hurt and scared me too.  I, being the the opportunist that I, am told Nick he should feed the ostrich as he didn't see what had just happened.  Same thing and reaction.  I was laughing so hard.  Nick got Colby to do it as well, then Deidra.  All of us had sore hands but seriously a good laugh after!  I am sure the farmer was laughing and thinking ah, city folk, such suckers!

Pacific City

May was a jam packed month for us!  We had double plans every weekend!  The weekend of May 22nd was no different! Elle and I headed to Rainier, where I grew up, for a baby shower for a very close family friend.  Colby had the camera as he was going to meet us at the shower so we could continue on our way to the Oregon Coast for vacation.  I kicked myself when I realized we didn't have any pictures of Megan's shower.  The trip from Rainier to the coast was very quick as we were traveling in the evening.

We headed to the beach the very next morning for some tide pool watching.

I think Elle liked the view from Daddy's shoulders.

We joined Nick, Deidra, Marcus, and Holly in Pacific City.  Nick's friend let us stay at his beach house for the week.

Marcus loved the water even in the rain!

Nick, Deidra, and Marcus playing in the waves.
We headed into Tillamook to tour the cheese factory and to get some much loved ice cream.  Elle sure enjoyed her first taste of huckleberry ice cream!  Not sure who the naughty ice cream sharer was... Okay fine it was me!  I swore I won't let Elle have any sweets until her first birthday but seriously, Tillamook ice cream is the best!  How could I deny her that?

This picture really sums up Marcus's feeling about sharing his bath time with Elle.  Elle has no personal bubble and wanted to sit as close to Marcus as possible as well as play with all his toys.  Marcus was not amused, especially when she started splashing about...

Over the ocean and thru the woods to Port Townsend we go

It was a rough day at sea for our little ferry. We watched the car in the upper deck sway back and forth as the owner didn't remember to set his parking brake.  It was a bit distrubing to say the least!  I tried to convince Colby to go up there and set it for them but he didn't think it was a good idea as I probably wouldn't have been able to bail him out until Monday since it was a holiday weekend...

Elle utilized this down time for a little snack. I think her leg was up trying to balance herself as the ferry was really rocking about.

All better!

A rainbow greeted us at Kingston!

We had two detours between Kingston and Port Townsend both were due to trees down over the road. One of the detours was onto the road "Egg and I". I wanted to stop and meet someone who lived on it in hopes they would invite me to stay there someday.

This sign was about halfway down the Egg and I road, perfect for an Easter weekend!

Seriously could there be any cuter of a sign!  I want to live on this road!!

Sunset's

Colby was playing around with the camera and took some awesome sunset pictures.  These were my four favorite ones!

Doesn't this look like the opening picture from the show "China Beach"

Devil's punch bowl

The house was located about 500 feet from the Devil's punch bowl.

View from the Otter crest lookout

The low tide was at 6pm so we headed out around 4 and were able to explore a lot of the beach in front of the house.

Sunset and a  happy baby!

Happy Valentines day!

Sunday we woke up to a storm brewing at sea which blew over right after breakfast.

The views from the house were amazing!  Thank you Grami and Poppi for letting us come along!

Poppi enjoying sometime with Gia and Elle.
